Today is the 146th anniversary of Singer and Dancer Gauhar Jaan. She was born on June 26, 1873 in Azamgarh district of Uttar Pradesh and was the first female artist to record music at 78 rpm in India. Her records were disclosed by The Gramophone Company of India.
Tell everyone that Gauhar Jaan was born into a Christian family and was previously named Angelina Hayward. Gauhar's grandfather was British while her grandmother was a Hindu and her father's name was William Hayward and her mother's name was Victoria. In fact, Gauhar's mother Victoria was also a trained dancer and Singer, and unfortunately, her parents' marriage failed to go and in 1879, when Angelina was just 6 years old, they divorced.
Victoria then married a man named Malak Jaan in Calcutta and accepted the religion of Islam, and then Angelina Gauhar became a life.
When Gauhar Jan was 13 years old, she was raped at that age. But even she did not give up on her life and earned big names in the field of music. She then mastered Dhrupad, Khayaal, Thumri and Bengali Kirtan, and from here Gauhar brought her talents to iron.

Gauhar, who is said to have been a victim of rape at the age of 13, managed to coin in the music world. In the 19th century, Gauhar Jaan was the most expensive Singer and is said to have gone to a palace and sing after taking one hundred and one guineas of gold.
In the beginning, Gauhar was a very rich woman and her attire and jewellery used to beat even the queens of that time. Gauhar Khan was repeatedly cheated in love and, in adulthood, Gauhar married half a Pathan from her age, but she could not walk and the two separated. She is said to have been extremely lonely in the last days and died on January 17, 1930, in a state of oblivion.
