Prahlad Kakkar is an Indian ad film director, Film Producer, Businessperson, Restaurateur & Advertising Director who known for his work in Bollywood industry. Prahlad Kakkar is best known for his work on the famous Pepsi TV commercial with Amitabh Bachchan and Sachin Tendulkar. He is the founder and main director for Genesis Film Productions, established in 1977. Prahlad Kakkar was born on 24-03-1950 in Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India.

Career

Prahlad Kakkar completed his school level education from St Joseph School in Dehradun and Sainik School in Kunjpura. He graduated from the prestigious Fergusson College, Pune. After graduation, he started his professional career in the adv. field. He was employed at ASP (Delhi) as an account specialist. For a short period, he has worked as an assistant director to noted director Shyam Benegal. He established his own advertising production house called Genesis Film Productions in 1977. Today, it was one of the most sought-after production houses in the country. Besides advertisements, his production house has also made some acclaimed short films as well.

Prahlad Kakkar is the co-founder of Reef Watch Marine Conservation, set up in 1994, which aims at creating marine-life awareness. Prahlad Kakkar supports and plays an important role as the Chief Advisor & Trustee of Natura Outdoor Education Trust. In 1999, He was one of the few Indian Directors to direct international commercials for clients like Uni Levers and Pepsico in Burma, Vietnam, Pakistan, Bangladesh and the Asia Pacific Region.
