Ulka Gupta, who played the part, is all grown up now and set to return to TV as a 20-year-old Parvati. The actress doesn't look the same anymore. Here's a look at her glamorous transformation. Ulka Gupta rose to fame as the young Lakshmibai in 'Jhansi Ki Rani' when she was just 13. However, post her stint on the show, she stepped away from the limelight to focus on her studies and other passions. Ulka trained very hard for her role in Jhansi Ki Rani and learnt horse riding and sword fighting for two months. She won accolades for her versatility on the show.
Now, after a gap of almost three years, Ulka is all set to return to the small screen with another power-packed role. The 20-year-old will be seen in the mythological drama, 'Shaktipeeth Ke Bhairav', in different avatars. Academics and anaemia weren't the only reasons for Ulka to take a break. Her unceremonious ouster from the daily soap 'Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi' also left her deeply shaken. Talking about the same, in a recent interview to TOI, she said, "That experience left me scarred."
Ulka feels she has grown up in a better way, without any stress. And the break allowed her to work on herself. Talking about child artists and their struggle to strike a balance between their careers and studies, Ulka said, "I feel that child artistes are exhausting themselves by taking up work back-to-back. In the bargain, they tend to lose their innocence. Ulka was also a part of the famous show Saat Phere in which she had played the role of Saloni's daughter - Savri.
