BJP and AAP Engage in Verbal Sparring Following ED Summons for Arvind Kejriwal; Delhi Government Cries Foul Play
Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, has been served summons by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), triggering a war of words between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The AAP alleges a conspiracy to dismantle the party, while the BJP sees it as an opportunity for Kejriwal to clarify the changes in the liquor excise policy and identify who benefited from a seven percent commission.
Saurabh Bharadwaj, a Delhi Minister and prominent AAP leader, expressed, "The summons of Chief Minister Kejriwal by the ED exposes the Central government's sole motive: eradicating AAP by any means necessary. They're resorting to false cases and arrests in their pursuit to end AAP."
In contrast, Delhi BJP Chief Virendra Sachdeva insinuated that Kejriwal's self-proclaimed "honesty" was being put to the test, as he faces questioning regarding the alleged liquor policy on November 2.
