Mumbai: The Bharatiya Janata Party has announced its candidates for the Legislative Council (MLC) elections in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Maharashtra. Bjp has announced candidates for 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh, 5 in Maharashtra and 2 in Bihar. In fact, 30 seats in the biennial elections to the Legislative Council in the three states are scheduled to go to polls on June 20.  

The BJP has announced nine candidates in Uttar Pradesh. In Uttar Pradesh, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Bhupender Singh and Narendra Kashyap and several other ministers have been fielded in the Legislative Council. Dayashankar Mishra Dayalu, JPS Rathore, Jaswant Saini, Danish Azad Ansari, Banwarilal Dohre and Mukesh Sharma are also in the list. Mukesh Sharma is the Lucknow Mahanagar president who has been made an MLC candidate.  

Bjp has fielded Praveen Yashwant Darekar, Ram Shankar Shinde, Srikant Bhartiya, Uma Girish Khapree and Prasad Minesh Lad from Maharashtra. Apart from this, Hari Sahni and Anil Sharma have been given tickets from Bihar. Of the 30 seats going to polls, 13 are in Uttar Pradesh, 10 in Maharashtra and 7 in Bihar. Twelve of the 13 seats in UP are falling vacant on July 6, including the seat of Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya. CM Yogi Adityanath's seat fell vacant on March 22. The last date for nominations for these seats is June 9.
