Kolkata: Life in West Bengal's Kaliaganj has been disrupted during the 12-hour North Bengal protest called by the BJP against the rape case. Buses were vandalized by BJP supporters during the bandh on Friday. BJP workers were accused of pelting stones and breaking glass panes on a government bus on the Barobisha road from Cooch Behar to Alipurduar on Friday morning (April 28). It is alleged that some Trinamool Congress (TMC) supporters workers manhandled BJP supporters.

Let us tell you that the BJP has called for a 12-hour bandh in North Bengal to protest against the killing of BJP worker Mrityunjay Barman in Kaliaganj. The charge of this murder has been leveled on the Moazzim salt officer of the Bengal Police. Normal life has been disrupted in many districts of North Bengal due to the bandh. A large number of police forces have been deployed in the area. In order to make the bandh successful, bandh supporters have been protesting in various areas including Balurghat town of South Dinajpur district since Friday morning. Due to the 12-hour bandh called by the BJP, no private vehicles and buses are plying in the district including Balurghat, but government buses are plying on the road.

To make the bandh a success, a sit-in demonstration was organized by the BJP from this morning in the area adjacent to the Balurghat state bus stand. Tapan BJP MLA Budhrai Tudu, BJP District General Secretary Bapi Sarkar, former District President Suvendu Sarkar and other BJP leaders were present in the dharna.
What is Kaliaganj rape case: -
Let us tell you that on April 21, the dead body of a 17-year-old minor girl was found floating in a canal in Kaliaganj. It is alleged that the girl was murdered after the rape. In protest, the local people blocked the road and burnt tyres. At the same time, in North Dinajpur district, last week, four police officers have been suspended for dragging the dead body of a minor girl on the road. The four suspended policemen were posted as Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) at Kaliaganj and Raiganj police stations. The video of these policemen dragging the dead body also went viral. The victim's family has already approached the Calcutta High Court demanding a CBI probe into the incident. He alleges that the Bengal Police is not investigating properly. Javed Akhtar has been accused of raping and killing the girl. At the same time, CM Mamta Banerjee is telling this matter as a matter of love affair.Â

The BJP was opposing this massacre. After which BJP leader Vishnu Burman's nephew Mrityunjay Burman has been murdered. It is alleged that the innocent youth Mrityunjay Burman has died in the firing of the Bengal Police. It is being told that the Bengal Police raided the house of BJP Panchayat Samiti member Bishnu Burman at 2:30 in the midnight (April 27; 2023), but when he was not found, the police shot his nephew Mrityunjay. Against which BJP has called a 12-hour bandh today.
