Lucknow: Rampur Sadar in Uttar Pradesh, which was till now considered to be the impenetrable fort of Samajwadi Party (SP) Azam Khan, has seen a major reversal. According to the report, for the first time since 20 assembly elections in the last 70 years, the area has got a Hindu MLA. In Rampur, BJP candidate Akash Saxena won by a huge margin of 34,112 votes. SP candidate Asim Raja was very angry after seeing these results.
Speaking to the media, Asim Raja has alleged that 70 percent of the votes have been burgled in the Rampur elections. At the same time, he blamed the Rampur police for his defeat. The SP candidate said that khaki people did not allow people to cast their votes by threatening them. Asim Raja said, ''The by-election was held in Rampur on December 5 and we had said earlier also that there was no election in Rampur. The police did not allow the people of Rampur to cast their votes at 200 booths in the city. Booths have been looted.''
Asim Raja said that only 20 percent of voting has been recorded in 252 booths. All the booths outside the city and village were captured. There was 50 to 80 percent voting. All the booths were captured. Two lakh voters were not allowed to cast their votes. Only 45,000 votes were cast and in many booths, the police themselves cast votes.
