Official candidates for the Dhekiajuli Municipal Board Elections have been announced by the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress (I). The BJP has announced their official candidates for the Dhekiajuli Municipal Board's 10 seats. Ward number 1 is Tridip Nath, ward number 2 is Ranjeeta Jaiswal, ward number 3 is Ashok Dutta, ward number 4 is Puja Chakraborty, ward number 5 is Lipika Saha, ward number 6 is Sushmita Das, ward number 7 is Tulika Saikia, ward number 8 is Tapan Das (Raju), ward number 9 is Dhruba Ranjan Sarkar, and ward number 10
On the other hand, on Monday, the Congress (I) of Dhekiajuli Unit announced their official candidates for all ten Dhekiajuli Municipal Board wards. Ward number 1 - Samarjyoti Nath, ward number 2 -Krishna Raut, ward number 3 -Sanjoy Sarma, ward number 4 -Tultul Sen Gupta, ward number 5 -Tultul Sen Gupta, ward number 6 -Tultul Sen Gupta, ward number 7 -Tultul Sen Gupta, ward number 8 -Tultul Sen G Sunanda Malo Das from ward number 5, Nilakhshi Saikia from ward number 7, Janardan Borah from ward number 8, Hemendra Das from ward number 9, and Shakti Rani Das from ward number 10
Nominations are due by February 15th. The state electoral commission has announced that nominations would be scrutinised on February 17, with the deadline for withdrawal of candidacy being February 20. On March 9, the EVMs will be counted. EVMs will be utilised for the first time in the state's local body elections, and voting machines will be used at all polling sites. The municipal elections will be held using the published electoral registers for municipal boards as of January 1, 2022. Meanwhile, a number of BJP candidates who filed for party tickets but were denied have chosen to run as independent candidates in various Dhekiajuli Municipal Board seats.
