BANGALORE: BJP's double engine government, both in state and central government,  is contributing to Karnataka's progress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday at Bangalore.

After revealing the 108-foot-tall statue of Nadaprabhu Kempe Gowda at the Bangalore International Airport, PM Modi said Karnataka is reaping the benefits of the beliefs and aspirations that the whole world has shown towards India.

More than Rs 4 lakh crore in investments have been made in Karnataka over the past three years, during which time the Covid epidemic has plagued the entire world. Prime Minister Modi said, the state leads the nation in terms of foreign direct investment (FDI).

"The IT industry is not the only one that accepts FDI. All industries, from biotech to defence production, drew investment. Karnataka has a 25% share in the aerospace and spacecraft industries. 70% of the helicopters used in defence are manufactured in Karnataka. All of this is taking place as the state advances under the power of a doub;e engine government "He asserted.

"The previous governments considered speed as a luxury and scale as a concern, but our governments has reversed this trend. We view scale as India's power and speed as its goal "He said.

"Startups are now associated with India, and the majority of them are based in Bangalore. A startup is about a desire to innovate, a burning desire to build something new, and the trust that is reshaping the nation" he said.

The startup spirit of India is exemplified by Bangalore, said the prime minister, and it is this spirit that distinguishes India from other nations.India Railways' new brand identity is being formed by more than 400 Vande Bharat Trains and Vista Dome Coaches, the PM said.
