BANGALORE: On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will formally dedicate a 108-foot-tall bronze statue of KempeGowda.

Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot gave the Prime Minister a cordial welcome upon his arrival by special flight at the HAL airport.

Pralhad Joshi, the Union Parliamentary Minister for Coal, Mine, and Parliamentary Affairs, Arun Singh, the State BJP Chairman, Tejaswi Surya, and Arvind Limbavali were also present.

The PM will participate in five events during his four-hour whirlwind trip, including a public protest and the unveiling of a 108-foot-tall bronze statue of Bangalaore city's founder, KempeGowda. After arriving at the Vidhana Soudha, Prime Minister Modi will honour the sculptures of social reformers Kanaka Dasa and Valmiki.

The PM will then proceed to the Sangolli Rayanna Railway Station in Bangalore and flag off the Bharat Gourav Kashi Darshan and Vande Bharata Express trains.

At 11.30 a.m., Prime Minister Modi will arrive at Bangalore's Kempegowda International Airport to officially open the posh Terminal 2. At noon, he will also dedicate the KempeGowda statue that was built on airport property in Bangalore. He will take part in and speak to a public meeting at 12:20.

Bangalore Police Commissioner Pratap Reddy said, 6,000 police officers would be deployed to guarantee security during Prime Minister Modi's visit to Bangalore.

PM Modi will depart from Bangalore at 1:45 pm for Madurai Airport in Tamil Nadu.
