BJP workers and party heads are trying to help and make people aware. Kailash Vijayvargiya, the in-charge of the Bengal unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has accused the Chief Minister of Bengal, Mamata Banerjee's government, of allowing the people belonging to the minority communities violate the lockdown. On Sunday, he said that all Muslim-dominated areas in the state, including Kolkata, have been completely exempted from the lockdown provisions. This has made the situation frightening.
A day before, the Union Home Ministry has given a strict warning to the state government on allowing religious gathering in many parts of the state including Kolkata and the provisions of lockdown are also not being followed. After this, on Sunday, Vijayvargiya interacted with Bengal MPs and officials through video conferencing from his residence in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
There has been a tug of war between the Bengal CM and the Governor for quite some time. After which once again, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar also took a dig at the Mamata Government. He said that it is very disappointing that lockdown is not followed here. This is not the time to do politics. The Chief Minister should perform her duty by rising above politics.
