BJP again tops the list in receiving donations, got 750 crores in 2019-20

New Delhi: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been in power at the Centre since 2014. The party has been given the highest donation stake in corporate and private. In its report submitted to the Election Commission (EC), the party has said that in 2019-20, the BJP has received a donation of Rs 750 crore from companies and individuals. This is five times more than what the Congress party got (Rs 139 crore).

On the other hand, NCP has received rs 59 crore, TMC Rs 8 crore, CPIM Rs 19.6 crore and CPI Rs 1.9 crore in the same period. According to a report, MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar's Jupiter Capital, ITC Group, real estate companies Macrotech developers and BG Shirke Construction Technology, Prudent Electoral Trust and JanKalyan Electoral Trust are among those who donated to the BJP. The BJP has received Rs 217.75 crore from the Prudent Electoral Trust. With this, donations of Rs.45.95 crore have been received from Jan Kalyan Electoral Trust, Rs.15 crore from Jupiter Capital, Rs.76 crore from ITC, Rs.21 crore from Lodha Developers, Rs.20 crore from Gulmarg Developers.

State that the Electoral Trust is a Section 25 company which receives voluntary donations mainly from corporate houses and distributes them to political parties. It keeps the names of donors confidential while making political contributions. Bharati Enterprises, GMR Airport Developers and DLF Ltd. are the main donors of The Provident Electoral Trust. Jan Kalyan Electoral Trust receives funds from JSW group companies.
