Mumbai: Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has made a surprising claim regarding the major political upheaval in the state in the year 2019. On Monday (February 13), he said that the government with Ajit Pawar was formed at the behest of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) National President Sharad Pawar.
However, NCP chief Sharad Pawar denied this and accused Fadnavis of lying. Deputy CM and BJP leader Fadnavis has said, 'We had a proposal from NCP that they need a stable government and we should form such a government together. We decided to go ahead and talk. Had a discussion with NCP chief Sharad Pawar. Then things changed. You saw how things changed.'
During a TV program, Devendra Fadnavis said, 'With all fairness, I want to say that Ajit Pawar took oath honestly with me, but later his (NCP's) strategy changed.' On this, Sharad Pawar said, 'I felt that Devendra is a cultured and gentleman. I never thought that he would resort to lies and make such a statement.' Let us inform you that, after the rebellion in Shiv Sena in 2019, the MVA coalition government fell. After that BJP formed the government with Eknath Shinde's Shiv Sena.
