Congress has launched a sharp attack on BJP. The grand old party has accused BJP of Poaching members from other political parties. Congress said that the Saffron party is a “party of migrant leaders” and most of their leaders are migrants from other parties including chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal.

In a release, APCC (Assam Pradesh Congress Committee) said, "After forming a party in Assam by poaching members from other political parties, the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) now says that they want cadres of the Congress instead of leaders. This means that they are now aware of the fact that their supporters at grassroots are fast fading away. They are now trying to poach workers of other parties. Everyone is aware that their entire party is formed with migrant leaders."

Further attacking the Congress party APCC Media Department Chairperson Bobbeeta Sharma said," BJP president Ranjeet Kumar Dass has claimed that they are not willing to induct any leader who is from another party into the BJP, but most of their leaders are migrants from other parties including Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal."
