New Delhi: Inderjit Singh, the grandson of former President Giani Zail Singh, took over the BJP on Monday. He joined during an event held at the party office in Delhi. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri, National General Secretary Dushyant Gautam and several senior leaders were present. Speaking on the occasion, Inderjit Singh said that today his grandfather's wish has finally been fulfilled. Inderjit said, "Everyone knows how the Congress treated them even after being loyal to the Gandhi family. He was hurt by the Congress party.''

Inderjit further said that while he was trying to pursue a career in the film industry, he was called to Delhi by Dada Gyani Jail Singh so that he could join politics. Inderjit Singh further said, "He (Giani Jail Singh) called me and asked Atal Bihari Vajpayee to seek blessings. He also sent me to meet L K Advani and seek blessings. You may recall that when Madan Lal Khurana became the CM of Delhi, I did a lot of rallies for him, though I was not a member of the BJP at that time. Gianiji wanted me to join the BJP and not the Congress party. Inderjit further said, 'They were preparing me for the politics, but that's when the accident took place that took their lives.'

"I'm not going to know if he lost his life in an accident or a plan was made for it," he said. We will talk about it some other day. There was no one to guide me at that time, so I returned to Punjab. Singh further said that later he started doing social work and travelled all over the country to bring the members of Vishwakarma Samaj under one roof. He said he had met BJP national president JP Nadda some time ago. During this time, Nadda had asked him about the work being done by him. Singh said Nadda had offered him to join the BJP after learning about his social work.
