New Delhi: Due to the lockdown, the railways and the central government have been embroiled in controversies over the rent charged to migrant laborers stranded in different states of the country to reach their homes. After the criticisms of the Indian Railways and the government for charging rent from the workers, BJP leader Subramanian Swamy's statement that the workers will not be charged. However, no official announcement has been made on this at the moment.

Rajya Sabha MP and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Subramanian Swamy tweeted from his official Twitter handle saying, 'I have a conversation with Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal's office. The central government will pay 85 percent of the fare for migrant laborers and the state government will pay 15 percent of the rent. Migrant laborers will go for free. The department will announce it officially.

Let us tell you that labor special trains are being run to bring the migrant laborers trapped in different states of the country back to their home state, but for this they have to pay the fare. For which the government is being severely criticized. At the same time, Congress President Sonia Gandhi issued a statement on Monday and attacked the government. Sonia said that the Indians stranded abroad were brought back for free while the workers are being charged rent.
