Ahmedabad: A BJP leader’s son assured a 19-year-old girl for marriage and then raped her at hotel in Surendranagar district. Deputy superintendent of police M R Sharma said, “the BJP leader is the president of Patdi taluka unit of the party”.
The complaint was filed by a girl against the 23-year-old accused Bittu Patel, who took the 19-year-old to hotel room and made physical relation with her.
“Both of them knew each other since schooldays and studied in the same college in Patdi town. The victim alleged that she was raped by Patel under the pretext of marrying her,” Deputy superintendent said.
The Dalit girl has been sent for the medical examination, while an FIR has been registered against the accused. No arrests have been made so far.
