Bangalore: A crucial meeting of senior party functionaries was held at the residence of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president J P Nadda on Monday night. Apart from Union Home Minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh and party general secretary BL Santosh were also present in the meeting. Quoting sources, it is reported that the meeting deliberated on the current political situation in Karnataka. The party is considering a major change in Karnataka.

It may be recalled that BJP's organisation general secretary B L Santhosh had made a statement in Mysore that the BJP central leadership will soon take a big decision on Karnataka. BJP national organisation general secretary BL Santosh was on a visit to Karnataka in the past few days. B.L. Santhosh had sent a strong message to the party leaders without naming anyone amidst the situation in Karnataka and the ongoing rhetoric among the leaders during that time. He had clearly said that the BJP is capable of changing every one or anyone.

After the meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reached Bengaluru on Monday night. He was received by CM Basavaraj Bommai at HAL airport. The Home Minister will attend four programmes in Bengaluru on Tuesday. In the 2023 Karnataka assembly elections, the BJP has set a target of winning 150 of the 225 assembly seats.
