New Delhi: TG Venkatesh, a Rajya Sabha member of the Bharatiya Janata Party, stated on Wednesday that revising the Constitution and demanding a new one is not only incorrect, but also against people who believe in Ambedkar, describing Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao's (KCR)  statement as a farce (Tamasha).

"His tamasha on the call for a new constitution is harming Ambedkarites and deflecting attention away from the state's basic challenges," Venkatesh said. On Tuesday, Rao stated that it is past time for India's Constitution to be changed.

"The Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar is generating an unnecessary fuss about the call for a new constitution," the BJP MP added.

KCR also remarked that several countries throughout the world had changed their constitutions, and that their country should follow suit.
