New Delhi: Akash Mukherjee, son of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Rupa Ganguly, has been arrested by the Kolkata Police. Akash Mukherjee has been detained after a car accident. However, the medical examination report said that no intoxicating substance was found in Akash Mukherjee's blood. Akash will be produced in court today.
According to reports, Akash was booked under Section 427, Section 279 of the IPC, after which MP Rupa Ganguly tweeted tagging PM Narendra Modi in which she had clarified the incident. In fact, Akash Mukherjee's black sedan car crashed into a club wall near a residential golf garden in Kolkata, after which eyewitnesses alleged that Akash was driving under the influence of alcohol.
Eyewitnesses say that the speed of the Akash's car was very fast. However, no one was hurt in the incident and the Akash is also safe. However, eyewitnesses said the sound of the car hitting the wall was so loud that the father of the Akash ran out of the house and pulled the son out of the car. Police are currently investigating the case.
