New Delhi: Today is going to be a very important day in the Kisan Movement. Today is the 48th day of agitation and today the apex court is all set to pronounce its verdict on the petitions filed in the case. The case was heard in the Supreme Court yesterday, with a reprimand from the central government and the court also asked for the formation of a committee to resolve the matter.

However, the top court's rebuke is not visible to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs. S Muniswamy, BJP MP from Kolar, Karnataka, said that farmers protesting on Delhi borders are being given money and brought to the agitation sites. They are middlemen and fake farmers. He further said that they (farmers) are eating pizza, burgers, and food from KFC and there is a gym made. This drama should stop. S Muniswamy is not the first BJP leader to make derogative statements about the farmers' agitation. Earlier, several BJP leaders have questioned the agitation.

Earlier on Monday, the apex court had asked the government to hear petitions relating to the farmers' agitation and said it was unhappy with the central government's stand. The court had asked the Centre to stay on the new agricultural law or the court itself.
