Agartala: BJP MP and party's ST Morcha president Sameer Oraon was attacked by unknown miscreants last night in Agartala in the northeastern state of Tripura. During this, there was a lot of stone pelting on his vehicle. Although, he has not been hurt in this attack, but another BJP leader involved in his convoy has been injured. The security guards had to fire a few rounds to save Sameer Oraon from the spot.

According to reports, security guards fired in the air to disperse the crowd and Sameer was safely evacuated from the spot. It is noteworthy that the BJP has already become active regarding the proposed assembly elections in the state next year. The BJP has made some changes regarding the Tripura Assembly. Party's National President JP Nadda has made Legislative Council leader from Uttar Pradesh Mahendra Singh in-charge for the upcoming assembly elections in Tripura. At the same time, Rajya Sabha member Sameer Umrao has been made co-in-charge.

Let us tell you that assembly elections are proposed in the northeastern state in March 2023. In such a situation, the political temperature of Tripura has also started rising. BJP seems to be active from now itself, whereas even before these elections, 2 important milestones (Gujarat and Himachal) are left for BJP. In the last assembly elections held in the state in 2018, the BJP had won 35 out of a total of 60 seats, while the CPIM, which has been in power for 25 years, had to settle for just 16 seats. Whereas IPFT had won 8 seats.
