Kolkata: The BJP's focus is now on Uttar Pradesh, where assembly elections are due early next year, after the west bengal election debacle. The average performance in panchayat elections and the situation arising out of the second wave of corona before the 2022 UP elections has put the BJP on high alert and the organisation's veteran leaders continue to brainstorm on Uttar Pradesh.

A secret meeting was held in Delhi at the top level on Sunday between party organisations and union leaders to prepare a roadmap for the current political situation in the state and the future strategy. The importance of the meeting between SANGH-BJP leaders can be gauged from the fact that it was attended by PM Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP Chief JP Nadda, Sangh Sarkaryavah Dattatreya Hosbole and state union minister Sunil Bansal.

According to BJP sources, the meeting between the sangh and top party leaders has brainstormed on the impact of the party's image on corona in Uttar Pradesh and its impact on the upcoming elections. The meeting lasted about an hour and a half on Sunday, with several rounds of talks with different leaders. The meeting also discussed how to improve the party's image before the elections.
