Mumbai: BJP veteran Sudhir Mungantiwar said that the BJP core committee met on Sunday after Maharashtra Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari invited the party to form the government. Mungantiwar, however, has not told what happened in the meeting. Mungantiwar told that they will hold another round of talks later in the day and a decision will be taken after that.

Governor Koshiyari asked the BJP, the single largest party in the new assembly, on Saturday evening to show its desire and strength to form the government. Mungantiwar told the press that BJP's core committee meeting was held on Sunday at 11 pm to decide the future course of action. He said that in the core committee, acting CM Devendra Fadnavis, state unit president Chandrakant Patil, senior leaders Girish Mahajan, Ashish Shelar, Pankaja Munde and he himself was present.

He did not give information about what happened at the meeting. He said BJP will have its next round of meeting at four o'clock this evening. After that, we will tell our decision to the Governor and also make it public. BJP had won 105 seats in the October 21 assembly elections, while the majority figure in the 288-member assembly is 145.
