New Delhi: Congress Party's interim president Sonia Gandhi has written a letter after the removal of SPG security. The letter has been written to SPG chief Arun Sinha. In this letter, Sonia Gandhi has thanked the SPG on behalf of the entire family for their safety so far. In her letter to SPG director Arun Sinha, Sonia Gandhi has written that since our security came into the hands of SPG, my family and I have been convinced that our security is in the best hands.

Sonia Gandhi said that the way SPG protected us every day for the past 28 years, we felt our loyalty to your duty. Sonia Gandhi further wrote in her letter that the SPG is an extraordinary force. Its members work with full devotion and patriotism every day. let us tell you that now the Gandhi family will be given ZP security of CRPF across India from the Central Government.

A senior official has said that the decision to withdraw the SPG protection given to the family of former PM Rajiv Gandhi was taken after a detailed security assessment. LTTE terrorists killed Rajiv Gandhi on 21 May 1991. The Gandhi family will remain without SGP protection after 28 years. He was included in the VVIP security list in September 1991 after amendment of the 1988 SPG Act. Let me tell you that now PM Narendra Modi will be the only person who will get SPG protection.
