Ahmedabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), which is gearing up for the Gujarat elections, has decided to give rest to its workers. The BJP has given three days' leave to the workers. The special thing is that assembly elections are due in the state later this year. Meanwhile, from PM Narendra Modi to BJP chief JP Nadda is also constantly visiting the state. The state has been in power by the BJP for the last 27 years.

A senior BJP leader said, "There is no major party programme in Gujarat till May 5. He said the party workers have been working continuously for the last two years and the party leadership feels that now is the time to give them some rest. There are 11 lakh registered workers of the BJP in Gujarat. Apart from Gujarat, assembly elections are also proposed in Himachal Pradesh this year. Gujarat BJP chief CR Patil advised the workers to spend time with their families before the state elections. During this time, he announced to ask the workers for rest.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) is also seen in an active role in Gujarat. During a rally in the tribal area of Bharuch, AAP national convener and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal had said that the BJP can take the path of early elections. "I have heard that the Gujarat elections will be held soon. Whether it is now or after six months, God and the people of Gujarat are with us and we will definitely come to power.''
