New Delhi: Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut's statement comparing Mumbai to Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has triggered an uproar. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is seen to be divided into two factions in this case. On the one hand, BJP leader Ram Kadam is with Kangana, while the party's MLA Ashish Shelar has strongly criticised Kangana's statement.

BJP MLA Ashish Shelar said, "We don't support Kangana Ranaut's statement on Mumbai. We are seeing how the investigation into actor Sushant Singh's death is going on and efforts are being made in some other directions on the issue by all the leaders before the final conclusion is drawn. We are clear in our position". Ashish Shelar said, "Kangana Ranaut should not try to slam Mumbai, Maharashtra and its people".

He said that "We also urge Sanjay Raut not to attack the BJP and not confuse the direction of scrutiny of Sushant Rajput case. He said the BJP has dissed itself from Kangana's statement. He has said that no one should try to teach Mumbai and Maharashtra.
