BANGALORE: The BJP is expected to release its election manifesto for the forthcoming Karnataka Assembly elections. The manifesto will be unveiled today May 1st, by party president JP Nadda in the presence of Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and party legendary  B.S Yediyurappa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was recently referred to as a "poisonous snake" by Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge while speaking at an electoral rally in Kalaburagi. In response, Modi blasted the Congress party for issuing threats against him and personal insults, saying that the people of Karnataka will give the Congress a "befitting answer" in the approaching elections. While running for the BJP in the state, Prime Minister Modi harshly criticised the Congress party.

Before the state Assembly elections, the Congress party made a number of guarantees to the Karnataka electorate, including 200 free electricity units. Modi, meanwhile, said that the Congress was a "outdated engine" that had prevented the state's progress while the BJP had kept its public pledges.

"Congress is a 'outdated engine'. Due to them, development was stopped. There are many fictitious guarantees in Congress. Any public promise made by them is not kept. Their track record is one of "unfulfilled guarantees." They misled the public, but the BJP kept all its promises by carrying out a number of development projects," Prime Minister Modi stated.

What to expect from the BJP's platform:  The BJP made pledges for every segment of society in its previous election manifesto, which was published in 2018. It also contained measures for cow preservation.

The manifesto is expected to strongly emphasize infrastructure improvement, women's empowerment, and youth welfare programmes. A special announcement is anticipated to be made for the young people and female students who have finished class 12 in an effort to engage first-time voters.

The Karnataka Assembly elections are set for May 10, while the vote-counting is scheduled for May 13.
