Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) supremo Mamata Banerjee has made a big prediction about the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. She has said that in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the BJP will not get a majority on its own and other parties will come together to form the government. Addressing a Martyrs' Day rally in Kolkata, CM Mamata said the people will oust the BJP from power at the Centre in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The TMC supremo also accused the BJP of ruining the country's institutions. She said those who had no role in India's freedom struggle are trying to rewrite the country's history. "The BJP will be removed from power in 2024. They will be defeated. I firmly say that the BJP will not get a majority on its own alone. Mamata further said that in the event of the BJP not getting a majority, other parties will come together to form the next government.''

Amid thunderous applause, Mamata urged the people to "break free from the captivity of the BJP, bring a people's government in 2024". Banerjee also termed the imposition of GST on all kinds of packets of food items weighing less than 25 kg of food items like cereals, pulses and flour as an anti-people move. "When the  BJP is imposing GST on everything, even pulses and milk powder, what will people eat? How will the poor live in this country?''
