KARNATAKA:: A BJP Yuva morcha leader in Dakshin Karnataka's coastal district has been murdered by unknown miscreants.

As per reports, the Hindu organisations, as a protest,  have given a bandh call in Puttur, Sullia and Kadaba taluks of the district on Wednesday. Security has been strengthened across the communally sensitive district and coastal region.

With activists alleging that the murder was committed by miscreants from the minority group, the matter has taken a sectarian turn.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has strongly denounced the death of party worker Praveen Kumar Nettaru in Sullia. "The perpetrators of this heinous crime will be apprehended and punished in accordance with the law. Praveen's soul may rest in peace. Let God give his family the strength to bear his loss "He mentioned this.

Praveen Kumar Nettaru, 31, a BJP Yuva Morcha member and Sulia native, was hacked to death on Tuesday night. Two unknown biker thugs attacked him with swords and fled the scene. Praveen ran a chicken shop near Puttur in Peruvaje Cross, Bellare village.

Despite being taken to a hospital, Praveen died due to his severe neck injuries. Hindu activists claim that Praveen was targeted in retaliation for the murder of a minority-community youth four days ago.
