Chennai: A widowed mother hanged her 10-year-old innocent daughter to death by hanging herself in Tirupur, Tamilnadu. After this, she also hung herself from the fan. It is being told that the woman recently gave the exam for a government job. However, her exams did not go well, due to which she was in depression. According to information, 28-year-old Pungodi was a resident of Alangayam Kamarajar Town near Dharampuram in Tirupur district. Her husband committed suicide six years ago. Since then, Pungodi had been living with her 10-year-old daughter Varsha with her mother Saraswati. Pungodi's daughter was studying in the 5th standard.

Poongodi herself worked in a private company. Two months ago, she quit her job. Actually, she wanted to do a government job. She also appeared for the TNPSC Group-4 exam. It was only to prepare that Pungodi left her job. On July 24, she appeared for the TNPSC exam. But even after working hard day and night, Pungodi's exam did not go well, which gave her a big shock. Pungodi was troubled day and night because of this. Pungodi's neighbours said she had also told her in this regard. She had no job left and no money left. For this reason, Pungodi picked up her daughter who was sleeping in a deep sleep. She had already kept the noose ready. The daughter was hanged on the snare, leading to her death. After this, Pungodi hanged herself from the fan and committed suicide.

Pungodi's mother Saraswati was not at home at the time of the incident. As soon as she returned home, she saw the bodies of her daughter and granddaughter and screamed. Saraswathi immediately called the Alangium police. The police took both the bodies into custody and brought them for post-mortem and started an investigation and the report is awaited.
