BJP's Mantra: Collective leadership to fight Rajasthan poll

NEW DELHI: The BJP has begun cleaning up its act in Rajasthan ahead of next year's assembly elections, and will run under a single leadership. The BJP has informed state leaders that the Assembly elections will be fought under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's brand name.

The leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) believes that deciding on collective leadership will bring all factions together and curb factionalism. The BJP central leadership plans to allocate responsibilities to senior state leaders, including former chief minister Vasundhara Raje, who is at odds with the state leadership, in order to bring everyone together.

According to a senior party official, the central leadership has sent a clear message to Rajasthan for a united state unit and collective leadership. "The party's central leadership has told the Rajasthan unit and leaders to stick together and stop bickering, and the party needs to focus on the central leadership in terms of elections." Factionalism is common in the Rajasthan BJP, and the national leadership believes that now is the moment to present a united front against the opposition as the state prepares for assembly elections next year.

According to sources, the Rajasthan unit has been assured that Prime Minister Modi will lead from the front and that they should not be concerned about leadership issues because the central leadership will handle them.

"The central leadership emphasised that the party won on Brand Modi in the recent assembly elections in four states, and that he will be in focus during the assembly elections next year," a senior BJP leader said.
