New Delhi: Veteran BJP leader and Union Minister Shantanu Thakur has claimed that the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is going to be implemented in the country in the coming week. He has said that I am giving a guarantee from the stage that in the coming 7 days CAA will be implemented not only in Bengal but in the entire country. Shantanu Thakur was also giving a speech at a public rally in Kakdwip, South 24 Parganas. Shantanu Thakur is BJP's Lok Sabha MP from Bangaon, Bengal.

Not only this, he has reiterated the words of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in his statement regarding CAA. Last year, Amit Shah had said that the BJP led central government is going to implement CAA and no one can stop it. His statement was seen as an attack on TMC supremo and West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee because Mamata Banerjee has been continuously opposing CAA.

Continuing his point, Union Minister Shantanu said, 'The CM of this state says, if you have a voter card, if you have Aadhaar, then you are a citizen. You can vote. You are a voting citizen, but here I hear that thousands of people have been disenfranchised. CM should answer why these people were deprived of voting rights. All of them are from Matua community. He is a supporter of Bharatiya Jana Party, hence he is not going to be given a voter card.

Amit Shah claimed, BJP will form government in Bengal in 2026: Last year, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had also given the green signal to BJP's election campaign for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Kolkata. Meanwhile, he had stressed on the Centre's resolve to implement the provisions of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) and said that this land has the right of "Hindu refugees". CAA to be implemented. Continuing his talk, the Home Minister had said that he is confident that BJP will form the government in Bengal with two-thirds majority in 2026, but before that there is the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Not only this, large-scale protests were also held against CAA immediately after it was passed in both the houses of the Parliament and got the assent of the President in 2019. There was a huge uproar in the national capital Delhi. After this, the government had put it on hold, but the government wants to implement it before the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
