BJP's Youth Wing Plans Protest Against Rahul Gandhi for Disrespecting Savarkar

NEW DELHI: The youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its intention to stage a demonstration opposing Rahul Gandhi, a prominent figure in the Congress party, due to what they perceive as his consistent and intentional belittlement of India's freedom fighters. This protest is scheduled to coincide with the third assembly of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), an event that will be attended by Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, and other Congress members.

Members affiliated with the BJP's youth wing have accused Rahul Gandhi of repeatedly making derogatory comments about Veer Savarkar, asserting that an insult directed towards this freedom fighter equates to an insult aimed at the entire nation. The BJP youth wing has stated its intention to protest against Rahul Gandhi, whom they label as "anti-national and anti-Hindu," along with criticizing the "corrupt Mahathagabandhan" (referring to INDIA) in the state of Maharashtra.

During the course of the two-day INDIA gathering, participants will build upon the discussions from their prior meeting in Bengaluru, advancing their efforts to develop a comprehensive strategy against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) at the national level. While the partner leaders within the coalition will engage in talks regarding their approach to the upcoming general elections and potential seat-sharing arrangements, it is also anticipated that the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) will unveil its official emblem during the two-day event, commencing on Thursday.

The INDIA leaders are set to engage in an informal session on Thursday, followed by a formal meeting on September 1st. Notably, this marks the inaugural assembly of the Opposition alliance in a state where none of the INDIA constituents currently hold power. Maharashtra is presently governed by the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), a coalition comprising the Shiv Sena, BJP, and a rival faction of the NCP led by Ajit Pawar.
