US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on Sunday talked with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, praising Doha for its sustained efforts to ensure the safe transit of US people out of Afghanistan.
According to a statement from the State Department's spokesperson Ned Price, Antony J Blinken spoke with Qatari Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani on Sunday.
According to the statement, Secretary Blinken and the Foreign Minister discussed the current events in Afghanistan as well as other bilateral and regional iissues, including Iran. Blinken met with Australian Foreign Minister Marise Payne in Liverpool on Sunday and reaffirmed the Indo-continuous Pacific's efforts to promote peace and development.
The two leaders attended a meeting of the G-7 Foreign Ministers. Both spoke about the importance of committing to bold climate action in the coming decade, as well as the need for like-minded allies and partners to continue to preserve, build, and rejuvenate democracy around the world.
