Mumbai: In view of the increasing number of patients suffering from coronavirus infection, BMC has changed the rules of the Containment Zone. If only 1 corona patient is found, then only that floor of the building will be considered as a container area, on which the patient will reside. The administration will seal that floor of the building instead of sealing the entire building on finding only one patient.
However, till now when the BMC administration found a corona infected patient in the housing society premises, the entire building was declared as a container area and sealed it. Then any person living in the premises, neither outside the campus nor outside people were allowed to enter the housing society.
A person who violates the applicable law in the Containment Zone has to face legal action under the Academic Act. Even a case can be registered against the housing society management under section 188 of IPC. If the person poses a threat to human life, health or safety, then there is a provision for imprisonment for a month or a fine of up to Rs 200 for violating this section.
