Mumbai: A very interesting case from Maharashtra is reported ahead of the assembly elections. The Bombay Municipality (BMC) has declared the official residence of CM Devendra Fadnavis of the province as a defaulter. The water bill of about Rs 7.5 lakh (total 7,44,981) of  Fadnavis' house has not been paid and that's why the house has been declared a defaulter.

Not only CM Fadnavis, but a total of 18 ministers in the Maharashtra government have been declared defaulters. In fact, the case has been exposed by an RTI. It is learnt that the BMC owes about Rs 8 crore to the government houses built in Maharashtra, i.e., ministers or politicians. The names of who have to pay money began to appear after the RTI revelations.

Surprisingly, the first name on the list is of the state's CM Fadnavis. Moreover, if you look at local media reports, the list also includes the names of top state leaders like Pankaja Munde, Eknath Shinde, Sudhir Mungantiwar, Vinod Tawde. The Bombay Municipality is occupied by the Shiv Sena and the BJP and has been in place for a long time.
