The model has won several championships in motorsport competitions such as the World Superbike Championship since its release in 2009.
The 2023 iteration of the supersport offering gets a slightly revised mechanical setup as well as aerodynamic additions like fairing-mounted winglets.

The 2023 BMW S 1000 RR will feature a sculpted fuel tank, a "double-bubble" windscreen, dual LED headlamps, fairing-mounted aero winglets, a clip-on handlebar with a steering damper, a rider-only saddle, an upswept exhaust Is. and a sleek LED taillamp. It also has an aggressive, shark-like design.

Powering the 2023 S 1000 RR is a 999cc, liquid-cooled, ShiftCam inline-four that produces a maximum output of 210 horsepower and 113 Nm of peak torque. The motor is mated to a 6-speed gearbox, with a slipper and assist clutch.
The 2023 S 1000 RR features four riding modes, dual-channel ABS, traction control with 6-axis IMU, front and rear disc brakes, and ride-by-wire throttle aimed at increasing rider safety.

The rear suspension of the supersport motorcycle comes with a preload-adjustable mono-shock unit and 45mm inverted forks at the front.
2023 BMW S 1000 RR prices in India range from Rs. 20.25 lakh for the standard model. 22.15 lakh for the Pro model and Rs. 24.45 lakh for the Pro M Sport trim level. It can be reserved online or through the authorized dealers of the brand.
