Every country in the world is suffering from corona infection in the present situation. Every country is trying to find an effective cure for the virus. United Nations chief Antonio Guterres stressed the need for effective and inclusive multilateralism, saying that multilateral bodies like the UN Security Council have all the powers but are unable to use it properly. On Friday, the world body is celebrating the 75th anniversary of its inclusion in the UN Charter.
Apart from this, TS Tirumurthy, India's permanent representative at the United Nations, said that the way countries are supporting each other, there is a need to rethink the way they are. He said, 'It is clear to us that a change is needed in the United Nations and multilateralism so that it remains effective.'
The United Nations was established on 24 October 1945 and was accepted in the UN Charter on 26 June 1945, following the signing of member countries on the Declaration. The declaration was signed by 50 countries in San Francisco. At the same time, in addition to the US report on the sanctuary for terrorists in Pakistan, UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres has expressed the hope that all member countries will 'abide by their obligations under the relevant resolutions of the Security Council'.
