Mumbai: Actor-film Director Satish Kaushik passed away after a heart attack early Thursday morning, said his close friend and industry colleague Anupam Kher. He was 66.
Kaushik was at a friend's home in Delhi when he complained of uneasiness. "He felt uneasy and he told driver to take him to the hospital and on the way he suffered a heart attack around 1 am," Kher informed. In a tweet earlier, Kher said he was shocked to hear about Kaushik's sudden death.
"I know that death is the ultimate truth but never in my dreams I thought that I would have to write that about my best friend Satish Kaushik. A sudden full stop to 45 years of friendship. Life will never be the same without you Satish! Om Shanti," Kher tweeted.
The news of the Bollywood actor;s death left the Hindi film industry in shock with many condoling his shocking demise. His body will be brought to Mumbai on Thursday.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, Shiromani Akali Dal President Sukhbir Singh Badal, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann were among others who offered condolences on the demise of the veteran actor.
"May God give him a place in its divine feet and give strength to the family to bear this huge loss, Satish Kaushik will always be recolected for his unmatched acting and direction," CM Khatter wrote a tributary note on Twitter while expressing his grief on the actor's demise.
In a tweet expressing condolences, SAD president Badal wrote, "Shocked to learn about the passing away of Bollywood's legendary personality Mr SatishKaushik. He was a wonderful actor, comedian, screenwriter, director & producer. My condolences to his loved ones in this difficult time."
Punjab Chief Minster Bhagwant Mann also expressed his grief on the actor's death, "The untimely passing of Satish Kaushik ji is very sad. Satish ji will always be alive in our hearts through your art..."
Notably, Satish Kaushik, belonged to the Mahendragarh district of Haryana and was holding the chairmanship of the Haryana Film Promotion Board.
