Mumbai: A Mumbai court on Tuesday (July 6, 2021) rejected the bail plea of Bollywood actor Ajaz Khan. Ajaz was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in April 2021 in connection with a drug case. He has been in jail ever since. Though Ajaz had earlier filed a bail plea, he too was turned down.

It may be recalled that the iron house of the ex-contestant of reality show Bigg Boss was raided by the NCB from where they recovered the drugs. He was produced before the NDPS Court in Mumbai on Wednesday (March 31, 2021) after 8 hours of interrogation. NCB officials had said that they had found 4.5 grams of alprazolam tablets during the checking of the house. The NCB had also raided Navi Mumbai and Jogeshwari after questioning the actor. Ajaz was then remanded in NCB custody till April 3.

Ajaz was accused by NCB officials of being a member of the Potato gang. In 2018, Ajaz Khan was arrested by Navi Mumbai police in a drug case. He was then detained by Mumbai police for communal remarks in a Facebook live video in April 2020. In this video, Ajaz Khan said, 'If an ant dies, a Muslim is responsible, if an elephant dies, a Muslim is responsible.
