Bommai meets FM Sitharaman, discusses GST & pending state projects

Basavaraj Bommai, the Chief Minister of Karnataka, met with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday and discussed specific state issues such as the outstanding GST share and irrigation projects. Bommai, who is in the capital for a two-day visit, met with the FM in the Parliament complex.

While several aspirants are in the national capital lobbying for a ticket, he is likely to meet with top BJP commanders to discuss the impending changes in the state cabinet. Among those present at the meeting between the chief minister and the finance minister were State Water Resources Minister Govind Karjol, Culture and Kannada Minister V Sunil Kumar, and Chief Secretary P Ravi Kumar. Earlier in the day, the Bommai was in town for the BJP's Foundation Day celebrations.

Bommai is also meeting with Union Jalshakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat to address the Mekedatu, Mahadayi, Upper Krishna, and Upper Bhadra projects, among others.

The CM also noted that he will examine administrative and technical difficulties concerning these projects, as well as seek clearances to expedite their implementation.
