New Delhi: The booster dose of corona vaccine Covaxin manufactured by the indigenous company Bharat Biotech is extremely effective against the SARS-CoV-2 variants of concerns, including Omicron. This has been revealed in a study by ICMR and Bharat Biotech. The study found that a booster dose of Covaxin six months after the two-dose primary vaccination developed a good anybody.

Dr Pragya Yadav, the Senior Scientist at the Institute of Virology (NIV), informed that the emergence of the omicron with about 30 mutations raised concerns that the vaccine could be ineffective on this. Reports of declining antibody responses against emerging variants of the virus for other approved vaccines have drawn a line of concern all over the world.

In this study, 51 people participated, who had received both doses of The Vaccine six months ago. They were studied for the effect 28 days after the third dose of the vaccine or the booster shot. The study was conducted in January by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and The Vaccine manufacturer Bharat Biotech, the result of which was published in the Journal of Travel Medicine on March 24.
