The Indian duo of Rohan Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan have made it to the doubles semi-finals of the 2022 TATA Open Maharashtra. While Yuki Bhambri's journey has also come to a halt in the second round of the singles category. Bopanna and Ramkumar have already played the challenge of Austria's Alexander Erler and Czech Republic's Jiri Wesley 7-6 (7-3), 7-6 (7-4)  in the quarterfinals played at the Balewadi Stadium here on Thursday.

Bopanna and Ramkumar are also engaged in playing their second ATP tournament together as the fourth edition of this only ATP 250 tournament in South Asia. Bopanna and Ramkumar will now face Sadio Dombia and Fabian Rebaul in the semi-finals. Another Indian pair of N Sriram Balaji and Vishnu Vardhan will also be seen playing in the semi-finals as their opponents Gianluca Mager and Emil Rusuvoorie have been ruled out last eight matches due to injury. The Indian duo of Balaji and Vardhan, who made it to the main draw as an alternate pair, have defeated the local duo of Arjun Kadhe and Purav Raja 6-1, 6-4 in the first round on Wednesday night.

Yuki's journey has come to an end with a defeat in the second round match of the singles event. Yuki, one of India's top players, was defeated 6-3, 6-2 by 8th seed Stefano Travaglia of Italy. Former Sweden's Elias Ymer defeated top seed and world number 15 Aslan Karatsev in straight sets to advance to his place in the singles quarterfinals. The 25-year-old, who entered the qualifiers, defeated Karatsev 6-2, 7-6 (7-3) in the second round match that lasted one hour and 36 minutes.
