NEW DELHI: In the new programme "Faltu," TV actor Niharika Chouksey, who plays the title role, claimed that she identifies with her character in many ways since they are both bold, daring, and fearless.

She states: "I identify with Faltu on many levels because, like me, she is outgoing and extroverted. She is assertive, says what she thinks, and --most importantly--Faltu and Niharika have a lot of goals and aspirations. I have a strong emotional bond with the character." "I won't say it's not difficult, but it's more of a duty because I'm portraying so many females who have truly gone through this torment or are still doing it. I hope to uplift them, show them that they aren't alone, and not let them down." The story "Faltu" is all about how rural residents treat girls and how sometimes they end up naming them Faltu since they think their next child will be a boy. Niharika portrays a similar type of rural girl whose family refers to her as "Faltu" because they believe she is useless because she is a girl.

When asked what, in her opinion, makes the show unique and why even people who live in cities will connect with it, Niharika  said: "The unique selling point of the show is definitely our story, which is so real and genuine, and that's why people will connect to it because there are so many little girls who have to go through this hell and bury their dreams because they are thought of as unwanted and useless." Even though Niharika plays the main role in the programme, there is a sweet chemistry between her and Aakash Ahuja, who portrays the male lead. He plays a significant role in Faltu's life as Ayaan, and although he tries to be of assistance to her, he is constrained by society.

The actress from "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai," on discussing her chemistry with Aakash, said: "We have a close relationship, and it comes over on screen. We both try to improvise and put effort into making scenes more realistic because he is fantastic at what he does and is very supportive. His persona has a significant impact on Faltu's life. She is led and safeguarded by him. When Faltu meets Ayaan, who becomes her mentor and coach, her life is forever changed." Starting on November 2, Star Plus will air "Faltu."
