One of the most awaited movies of the year Brahmastra is called for Boycott. The movie is made up of a whopping amount. The film was announced in July 2014 but was delayed by several years. And after principal photography lasted between 2018 to 2022, the film saw further delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Produced on an estimated budget of ₹300 crores Part One – Shiva is one of the most expensive Indian films to date.

Prior to Brahmastra's release, two big-budget movies called for Boycott and when they hit the silver screen they didin’t perform well at the box office. Ranbir Kapoor's film Shamshera, directed by Karan Malhotra, was made on a budget of Rs 100 to Rs 150 crore. Unfortunately, the film couldn't cross the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. On the other hand, Aamir Khan's recently released movie, Laal Singh Chaddha, also tanked at the box office. However, the film was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 180 crore.

Brahmastra called for Boycott and the trend is growing.  Ranbir-Alia film seems to be at the receiving end of a boycott campaign which is triggered by Alia Bhatt’s comments, Ranbir Kapoor’s food habits and Ayan Mukerji’s post about earlier preparations for the film.  Alia Bhatt also in interview said, she cannot defend herself all the time and went on to urge people to not watch her if they don’t like her. Ranbir Kapoor, on the other hand, went viral for an old video with food blogger and writer said, “Since my family is from Peshawar, I am a big beef guy.”

Speaking of Brahmastra, The movie is helmed by Ayan Mukerji and produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions, Brahmastra stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, and Mouni Roy in the lead. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on September 9. The movie is called for boycott due to Alia and Ranbir’s old statement.
