New Delhi: Global restaurant chain McDonald's is engulfed after a big reveal in India. In a tweet, he said, every restaurant in the country has halal certified. Responding to a question from a Twitter handle, McDonald's said that a halal certificate can be sought from the managers of any McDonald's restaurant in India.

McDonald's tweet was attended by some people and intensified demand for a boycott of the restaurant on Twitter. On Twitter on Friday, #boycottmcdonalds started trending tops. A Twitter user accuses the company of forcing non-Muslims to eat halal meat. The Twitter handle, venkysplace, wrote, "Are all non-Muslim customers, including Hindu, Sikh, forced to eat halal meats? Is it not to impose the oppression of minorityism? What about Hindu religious sentiment? We are your 80 per cent consumer, yet we don't mean?' it wrote, "Do we have to boycott McD?'

On the other hand, a Twitter user named Vijendra Gupta wrote that he would never eat food in this Islamic foodchain. "Wow, we didn't know you're an Islamic foodchain franchise. I will never eat food from this restaurant which serves food according to Islamic customs. In India, you cannot run your business by feeding only 15 per cent of Muslims. "
