President Ram Nath Kovind paid floral homage to Dr. BR Ambedkar on his 65th death anniversary, which is commemorated as "Mahaparinirvan Diwas," on Monday, December 6.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge, and other members of Parliament have also paid respect to the architect of the Constitution at his statue in Parliament today.

B.R. Ambedkar, popularly known as Babasaheb Ambedkar, was an economist, politician, and social reformer who battled for the Dalit community's rights, which were formerly considered untouchables (they are still considered untouchables in certain parts of the country). Ambedkar was a key architect of India's Constitution and a strong supporter of women's and labour rights.

Ambedkar's contribution to the construction of the entire concept of the Republic of India is tremendous, as he was the first Law and Justice Minister of Independent India. Every year on April 14th, his birthday is commemorated to honour his commitment and dedication to the country.
