Brandon Sklenar who starred alongside Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni in ‘It ends with us’ opts for a neutral stance amidst the legal battle between his former co-stars. Sklenar has stayed out if it all completely ever since the matter came to limelight.
Sklenar, however chose to address the situation recently while promoting the second season of 1923. He appeared on CBS mornings, where Sklenar was directly asked by the host Gayle King, whether he was “Team Blake or Team Justin”. Sklenar chuckled and said, “I’m team It ends with us.”
Sklenar said, “I just want people to remember why we made the movie in the first place, and what it stands for, and just keeping the focus on that.” He added, “I have someone very close to me who has gone through what (Lively’s character Lily is) going through for a long time, and I’ve been on the front lines helping her navigate that space, so that movie meant a lot t6o me and it means a lot to her.”
Sklenar further said, “It was one of the reasons that me doing the movie gave her life. It’s unfortunate that things get taken away from what the ethos of that thing is and it gets convoluted.”
Blake Lively has accused Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment, and staging a “smear campaign” against her during the promotions of the film. Responding to this, Baldoni countersued Lively for extortion, denying all the allegations against him.
Earlier, Baldoni took the legal action by filing a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times for its reporting on the whole situation. He further mounted up the legal battle with a second lawsuit, seeking for a $400 million against Blake Lively and her husband Ryan Reynolds accusing the actor couple of extortion, defamation and additional misconduct. The trial will be held in May 2026.
Some people however believe that Sklenar might have supported Lively in December when he shared a link to an initial complaint against Baldoni on his Instagram story with the caption, “FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, READ THIS.”
Amid the ongoing battle, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds made their first public appearance together at the SNL50: Anniversary special. Lively was spotted wearing a silver embellished glittery gown and Reynolds in a classic black tuxedo.
