BREAKING! 4.4 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes Islamabad and Rawalpindi

In the early hours of Friday, Pakistan's Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and nearby regions experienced a 4.4 magnitude earthquake. The shaking began around 5:30 am and was felt in parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The earthquake's depth was measured at 16 kilometers.

The seismic activity, detected by the seismological center, had a depth of 16 kilometers and affected parts of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Residents, alarmed by the tremors, came out of their homes reciting Kalma-e-Tayyaba. Fortunately, there haven't been any reports of casualties or property damage in either Islamabad or Rawalpindi following the quake.

Just a month ago, Gilgit faced a 3.3 magnitude earthquake, as confirmed by the National Seismic Monitoring Centre (NSMC). The tremors were felt in Gilgit and surrounding areas, but no loss of life or property damage was reported.

For the prior event, NSMC Islamabad noted an earthquake depth of 45 kilometers and an epicenter 84 kilometers in the North West.

Back in October, Karachi, the capital of the Sindh province, experienced a mild earthquake measuring 3.1 on the Richter Scale. The National Seismic Monitoring Centre Islamabad reported the quake's depth at 15 kilometers, with the epicenter near Karachi's Quaidabad area.
